TINT TALK: Amidst the star-studded celebrations at @ishaambaniii & @AnandPiramal_official’s pre-wedding bash in Udaipur, @beyonce dazzled on stage in @AbuJaniSandeepKhosla outfits, complete with a thigh high slit in classic Beyoncé style and elaborate shoulder dusters and a matha-patti.
We’ve previously seen Beyoncé adorned in an @AbuJaniSandeepKhosla design in Coldplay’s ‘Hymn for a Weekend’ music video, a video that many felt was an example of cultural appropriation. It’s important to acknowledge that traditional Indian clothing carries history, community and identity interwoven into the fabric.
Inclusivity has become a growing trend in the current events scene, which is bringing more conversations about cultural appropriation vs. appreciation to the limelight. Our mission is to honestly and openly advocate for inclusivity, while still respecting each culture as its own. Inclusivity is a movement, not a trend.
